It is during these times that God is at work, He is is working all things for our good. I sometimes find myself quoting Jeremiah 29:11 - For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. My expectation and hope would feel as if they were at the peak, but still the challenges seem to linger.
I recently was reminded that when God reassured the children of Israel in Jeremiah 29:11 that He had their interest at heart. They were in exile, but He would bring redemption. Even as we face our "exile" experience, be encouraged that God has a plan and we will be redeemed in the time and way He sees fit.
But before God shared his promise of redemption to the Children of Israel He told them to seek the peace and the prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper. (Jeremiah 29:7)
Our change will come by persevering through our challenges, not running away from them.
Trust God He is working it out for your good and for His glory.
