STRENGTH AND UNITY IN WARFARE

I feel that many of us are in warfare in this season of our lives. We are faced with all kinds of situations, recession, broken lives, broken homes, illness, disappointments and the list goes on.

If you have not yet begin to prepare let us start today because the enemy is not willing to ignore any of us.

Ephesian 6:10 -
In preparation for war as Christians we have to put ourselves in the position to receive the Lord’s strength. (verse 10)

To be in the position to receive God’s strength we must put on the whole armour of God so that you can take our stand against the devil’s scheme (verse 11)

“to take a stand” as used in the language of war means to “hold a watch post” Hababbuk 2:1. I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower………………

When soldiers go to war they don’t go alone, they go as a troop, so as Christians we need each other on the battlefield. We are not fighting just for ourselves we are fighting for the body of Christ. When we are attacked it is literally the body of Christ who is being attacked. There is always a chain of others who are caught in the thick of things whether we like it or not. For example, those feeling with us, praying for or with us or even those against us.
Even Jesus prayed that we should be one like He and the Father is one..................................................
"The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one" (John 17:22)

When we fail to unite in the fight we can be easily picked off by the enemy because we are not covered by other members of the army.
We should stand with each other so that we might learn from each other, and fight for each other.

The enemy is deceptive and cares to remain out of sight so his plans will not be discovered. He prefers to get at us one at a time; so in uniting/sharing we are building strength. Sharing exposes his schemes. We do not want to glorify him but we need to sharpen each other to be strong in the Lord and the power of his might. (verse 10)
