Proverbs 1: 7 states that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Fear here does not mean we should be afraid of Almighty God, it means we should reverence Him, show respect to Him, hold Him in the highest esteem.
There are benefits from the wisdom we gain from respecting God. Proverbs 2: 1-7 encourages us to do several things:
a) Accept His words
b) Store or save these words
c). Listen or turn our ears to wisdom
d). Apply understanding
e). Call out for clarity/insight
f). Cry aloud for understanding
g). Search for wisdom like we search for hidden treasures
When we do these things on a consistent basis we will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God.
Our Lord gives wisdom, and understanding.
James 1:5 5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him
We will be successful as we walk upright, because Proverbs 2: 7 says Our Lord stores up success for the upright. The verse further says that He will shield/protect us who walks blameless.
It is my desire that I will walk upright, and I pray the same for you so we will be successful, and have the confidence that we are shielded from the enemy by the one and true God.
