ENQUIRE FIRST, YOU WILL DEFEAT THE ENEMY

If you are like me, there are times when I have to make decisions and I go ahead and make all the plans before talking to God about it. Dangerous, dangerous move.

No matter how simple the situation seems to be, it is very important that we get the direction and stamp of approval from our Daddy. In 1 Samuel 23:1-5 David was faced with a situation that without thinking about it, he could have gone ahead and wage war, but he did what was the right thing, he enquired of the Lord. The Lord answered, but the men David appointed to go to war, were afraid. David did not pressure them, because he clearly understood the strength of the enemy. He again enquired of the Lord.

The outcome, David and his men were victorious. He enquired, God answered and assured David of his presence.

1 Samuel 23: 1-5 When David was told, “Look, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah and are looting the threshing floors,” he inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I go and attack these Philistines?”
The Lord answered him, “Go, attack the Philistines and save Keilah.”
But David’s men said to him, “Here in Judah we are afraid. How much more, then, if we go to Keilah against the Philistine forces!”
Once again David inquired of the Lord, and the Lord answered him, “Go down to Keilah, for I am going to give the Philistines into your hand. So David and his men went to Keilah, fought the Philistines and carried off their livestock. He inflicted heavy losses on the Philistines and saved the people of Keilah.

It is very important that we always go to God for answers even in the simplest of situation, we will never go wrong.
